Wenzel’s The Bakers Ltd. is a renowned bakery brand known for delivering high-quality baked goods and freshly prepared sandwiches to 110 stores daily. We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to lead our sandwich department, ensuring smooth operations and consistently excellent results.

Role Overview:

As the Sandwich Departmental Manager, you will oversee the full operation of the sandwich department, including managing both the day and night shifts. You will ensure that all sandwiches and paninis are prepared, packaged, and dispatched on time while meeting quality and efficiency targets. You will also take full responsibility for team management, stock forecasting, and departmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership:

• Oversee day and night shifts, ensuring smooth coordination and high productivity.

• Manage the recruitment, training, and development of team members.

• Prepare and maintain staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage at all times.

• Production Oversight:

• Ensure the preparation of sandwiches, paninis, and sandwich mixes (e.g., chicken mayo, tuna mayo) meets company standards and deadlines.

• Monitor quality control and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

• Stock Management:

• Forecast stock requirements based on sales and production data.

• Manage inventory to minimize waste and ensure availability of necessary ingredients and supplies.

• Performance Management:

• Set and monitor performance targets, ensuring the team consistently meets dispatch deadlines and production goals.

• Analyse departmental performance and implement improvements to optimize efficiency and output.

• Operational Responsibility:

• Take ownership of the entire sandwich department, resolving any operational challenges swiftly.

• Foster a positive and collaborative working environment to enhance team morale and productivity

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: Proven experience in a management role within food production or a similar fast-paced environment.

• Skills:

• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.

• Strong analytical skills for forecasting and performance monitoring.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.

• Attributes: Proactive problem-solver with a hands-on approach, Effective                communicator with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
